Jugo-Impex was established in 1990. in Niš. Initially, the company’s primary activity was the turnover of non-ferrous metals. In 1994, the company started collecting and recycling waste material.

The Šćekić family started its business ventures in 1990. After nine years of successful business operations, the company defined a clear strategy in the field of ecology, environmental protection and secondary raw material recycling. Jugo-Impex d.o.o. has become the leader in the segment of recycling industry in the Republic of Serbia due to continuous improvement of knowledge and technologies, and application of state-of-the-art technology.
There are two companies that operate within our group: E-reciklaža 2010. d.o.o. which recycles electrical and electronic waste, and Jugo-impex d.o.o. which recycles industrial, hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
By recycling a significant portion of the generated waste, we want to make the planet a better place for living, teach our future generations to appreciate the available resources and restore balance in nature.
Nowadays, the planet is facing numerous challenges that all of us must overcome by taking actions on the local level, in our immediate surroundings. Rapid economic growth, the population growth and technological development have exhausted natural resources on the planet and generated large quantity of different types of waste.
In the future period, green jobs and recycling industry will have the potential of creating 50.000 new work positions in the Balkans. Additionally, it is important to emphasize that recycling activity is crucial for preserving natural resources, preventing pollution and emission of harmful gases, and reducing energy demand. Having in mind the fact that natural resources on the planet are becoming more and more limited due to their overexploitation, we may conclude that recycling, or urban mining, will be the only source of obtaining primary metals and minerals.
We at Jugo-Impex strongly believe that our knowledge, experience and use of state-of-the-art technologies will make a significant contribution to the reduction of pollution on the global level by disposing of hazardous and industrial waste from the territory of our country and making scarce raw materials reusable in socially responsible and ecologically efficient way.

The mission of Jugo-Impex d.o.o. is to meet the global challenge of scarcity of copper and other elements as natural resources by making them reusable and available to future generations through the process of recycling. The primary objective of the company is to collect, treat and recycle all types of industrial waste in socially responsible manner, respecting the basic principles of environmental protection, human health and circular economy.
Our vision is to become a regional leader in the field of hazardous and non-hazardous waste treatment. Therefore, we continuously invest in research and development, new technologies, optimization of work processes, service quality improvement and creating opportunities for new green jobs.
